and a PhD in Penology and Political Theory both from the
University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is interested in the
historical development of punishment, class consciousness and the
history of the Inter-War period. He is analyst and
coordinator of Rhodes Project.
Filippo M. Espinoza
is a historian. He holds an MSc in Contemporary History from the
University of Pisa, Italy. He is interested in Italian
colonialism, Mediterranean history and economic history of fascist
Italy. During 2012 he has been working with the Greek General
State Archive (department of Dodecanese) with an Erasmus placement
scholarship. He is analyst and responsible for the research
planning in Rhodes Project.
Savvas Alexandros Pavlidis
is an International Relations expert. He holds an MA in
International Relations (with a focus on Turkish-Greek relations)
from Istanbul Bilgi University. He received his BA from the
department of Turkish Studies, University of Cyprus. He is
interested in the history and development of nationalism,
nation-building and minority issues. He is analyst and responsible
for the research planning in Rhodes Project.
is a freelance journalist in Rhodes, Greece and political
scientist. He is interested in political analysis, the
relationship between the State and the Church, the liberal
political philosophy and modern history. He is analyst and
responsible for the public relations of Rhodes Project.
is a musician and ethnomusicologist. He holds a BSc in Music
Technology and Acoustics from the Technological Educational
Institute of Crete. He is interested in the history of the social
context of music and the nexuses between music and politics. He is
analyst and operation administrator of Rhodes Project.
is Reader in Criminology at Teesside University UK. He is
interested in the political economy of policing and the social
organisation and regulation of illicit markets, particularly in a
transnational context. His published work has been particularly
concerned with the historical development and present state of
policing in Greece, as well as the configuration and policing of
dirty economies in that country, particularly in light of their
connection with human smuggling and trafficking.

The European Group is an
international organisation for the research of deviance and the
social responses against it. It was founded in 1973; thus,
constituting the oldest existing critical group on social studies.
Its particular research interests revolve around the study of
contemporary as well as historically marginalised behaviour and
social groups and of the state responses to them. The current
coordinator of the group is Emma Bell.
