Dodecanesians in Rimini Battalion
Based on the archived material from various international sources
and the bibliography on the role of Dodecanesians in the
Second World War, the participation of Dodecanesians in the battle
for Rimini, Italy (25.08-30.09.1944) is being researched. This
project goes beyond any phenomenological approach and looks for a
connection between the participation in the army cohort and the
national and political consciousness.
Contraband in the Interwar period
The Italian Administration
section of the General State Archives / Department of the
Dodecanese constitutes a valuable source of information for
deviant behaviours like smuggling, trafficking and generally
illegal markets during the Italian occupation of the Dodecanese.
Combined with the life narratives from the same period, they
constitute an interesting depiction of the society and the economy
against which criminological, political, state and economic
theories can be readily examined.
Application period: March 2014
- March 2016.
