Dr. Ioannis V. Papageorgiou

Dr. Ioannis Papageorgiou graduated from the Law School of Athens. After an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Edinburgh, he received a PhD from the same institution in Political Sociology and State Theory, with a full scholarship from the Scottish Centre for Crime and Criminal Justice Research (SCCJR). His publications regard the political dimension of social phenomena in micro-  and macro- level, with particular focus on voting behaviour of certain social categories, and social representation of the ‘Self’.

He had served as research associate at the University of the Aegean and he had been appointed as adjunct lecturer in the University of the Aegean, The Hellenic Open University and the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens.

He is also an accredited Innovation Manager by the EY Business School and a licensed lawyer (Athens Bar Association). Since 2013 he is the CEO and Research Director at Rhodes Centre for Historical and Social Research.
