Understanding Diversity in Rhodes: Traditional and New Others

Implementation period:

Role: support provided by Rhodes Project SCE staff

Funding: Supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway

Objective: To examine the contours of diversity on the island of Rhodes.

The multicultural society of Rhodes, with the long co-existence of Christian and Muslim communities, has recently witnessed waves of new Muslim refugees and immigrants. This combination provides a unique setting for analysing and deconstructing diversities, with a view to developing integration policies.
